The moniker "Oatmeal Joe" was born in 2005, stemming from Joe’s misguided enthusiasm for indulgent eating.

Unfortunately, his love for excessive consumption led to a rise in his cholesterol levels. As a result, he was forced to adopt a strict diet of oatmeal—not just for breakfast, but often for lunch and even dinner.

Rather than sulk over his predicament, Joe embraced it with humor, turning the situation into a personal joke. Thus, "Oatmeal Joe" was born. Before long, the name stuck with his pickup basketball crew, and soon, he’d hear the familiar shout echo across the court —

"Yo, Oatmeal! Where’s our m’fking water?!"
