The name "Oatmeal Joe" manifested in 2005 from Joseph's misconception of the idea of food consumption galore.

This resulted to his bad cholesterol level raising slightly higher than normal. Sadly, his diet changed to eating oatmeal for breakfast, lunch and at times, dinner.

Nevertheless, he remained positive only to poke fun of this predicament. Thus, naming himself "Oatmeal Joe". Soon, his friends from his basketball pick-up games adapted to this name rebirth..."Yo, Oatmeal! Where's our m’fking water?!"
